West Ham United U21s got their 2022/23 Papa Johns Trophy campaign off to the perfect start, with a 1-0 win away to Walsall.
The young Hammers beat the EFL League Two side at the Poundland Bescot Stadium thanks to Kamarai Sywer's second-half strike, latching onto Divin Mubama's flick-on to coolly slot in at the near post.
Mubama also went close with a couple of efforts, forcing saves from Walsall's Adam Przybek, while Pierre Ekwah tested the goalkeeper and Regan Clayton saw a dinked effort go narrowly wide.
