My Football Firsts | Jean-Clair Todibo

First game you watched live as a supporter?

It was Paris Saint-Germain v Lorient, when my big brother took me to the Parc des Princes. It was an unbelievable moment for me watching players such as Mateja Kežman and Claude Makélélé, as when I was a kid I supported PSG and Barcelona.

First football hero?

I would say my first football hero was Ronaldinho. He was incredible.

Ronaldinho

First football boots?

They were Adidas F50s, which have always been cool boots.

First kit?

It was a Paris Saint-Germain home shirt from when Pauleta was at the club (between 2003-2008). I can’t remember exactly what year it was, but he was on the back of the shirt!

First mentor in football?

It was my big brother, who is ten years older than me. I played a lot of football with him growing up. During my childhood I was always playing against older people, and I learned a lot from those experiences. I also played futsal with my brother.

First professional game?

It was for Toulouse against Bordeaux in the Derby de la Garonne in August 2018, and we won 2-1. I was 18 years old, and I played very well. I’ll never forget it.

First professional goal?

It was against Rennes for Toulouse, in September 2018. It was a back-post header for a late equaliser to earn us a 1-1 draw.

First red card?

I was sent off against Guingamp when I was at Toulouse, in September 2018. It was an eventful few weeks! It was two unnecessary yellow cards. In 2022, when I was at Nice, I was sent off in a match against Angers after nine seconds, which is the fastest red card in Ligue 1 history.
