West Ham United women's team were defeated 2-0 by Manchester City on Sunday.
The Irons started brightly, with Viviane Asseyi seeing an early effort disallowed for offside, but it was the Citizens who struck in the tenth minute to break the deadlock.
The hosts won possession in midfield and fed the ball into Lauren Hemp, who took aim inside the box and squeezed her shot beyond Kinga Szemik.
West Ham remained resolute, but, 19 minutes from time, Mary Fowler doubled her side's tally, heading home a cross at the back post from Khadija Shaw to make it 2-0.
