West Ham United exited the Carabao Cup at the third-round stage at the hands of Liverpool, with the hosts coming from behind to claim a 5-1 win at Anfield.
Things started brightly for Julen Lopetegui's Hammers when home defender Jarell Quansah bundled into his own net shortly after the 20-minute mark, making it 1-0 to the visitors.
Liverpool duly responded four minutes later through Diogo Jota's header however, and the Portuguese forward then grabbed his and his side's second of the night shortly after half-time, coolly finishing past Łukasz Fabiański.
Substitute Mohamed Salah made it 3-1 before his fellow forward Cody Gakpo scored twice in quick succession late on to put gloss on the scoreline, and bring the Irons' cup journey to an end.
