Jean-Philippe Mateta's second half double inflicted the first home defeat of Graham Potter's reign as West Ham United boss on Saturday.
Following a low-key opening period, in which neither side truly threatened to open the scoring, it was Crystal Palace who struck first soon after the restart.
Mateta carried the ball to the edge of the box and shot low and hard to Łukasz Fabiański's right to notch his tenth goal of the campaign.
The Hammers huffed and puffed, but struggled to create, and when Fabiański felled Eddie Nketiah inside the box, Mateta squeezed home his 89th minute penalty to seal the Hammers' fate.
