Match Officials confirmed for Wolves clash

Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United
Premier League, Molineux, Tuesday 1 April 2025, 7.45pm BST

Referee: Tony Harrington
Assistant Referees: Scott Ledger and Sian Massey-Ellis
Fourth Official: David Webb
VAR: Stuart Attwell
Assistant VAR: Richard West

Tony Harrington has been confirmed as the referee for West Ham United’s Premier League clash away to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday evening.

One of the newest top-flight referees, who was promoted to Select Group One ahead of the 2021/22 season, Harrington takes the whistle for his second West Ham match this term.

The first was during our 2-1 defeat in the season opener at home to Aston Villa in August 2024, while he also took charge of this exact fixture last season, when James Ward-Prowse’s outrageous late goal straight from a corner helped power the Hammers to a 2-1 comeback win in the West Midlands.

Harrington refereed his first Premier League match in December 2021, and has gone on to take charge of 33 fixtures in the competition in total.

The Hartlepool-based official possesses plenty of EFL Championship experience, having refereed 194 matches in the second tier from the 2013/14 campaign onwards, and was in charge of two Wembley finals in the space of a week in May 2021.

First, he officiated the FA Trophy final between Hereford and Hornchurch, then he returned for Blackpool's League Two Play-Off final victory over Lincoln City.

Scott Ledger and Sian Massey-Ellis will serve as the assistant referees at Molineux.

Both possess extensive experience in the Premier League and across the EFL, with Ledger serving in the English top division since 2009 and Massey-Ellis since the 2010/11 season.

Ledger has worked as an assistant in 19 Premier League matches this campaign, including alongside Massey-Ellis and Harrington during Brentford’s 4-0 win at Leicester City last month, and indeed ran the line when Harrington held the whistle during the Irons' aforementioned season opener against Aston Villa on 17 August.

Massey-Ellis, meanwhile, is one of England’s highest-profile female match officials, working in the Premier League and EFL, while also officiating in the UEFA Women's Champions League, FIFA Women's World Cup and UEFA Europa League, and recently serving as the Assistant VAR in the Carabao Cup final between Liverpool and Newcastle United.

The 39-year-old’s only previous appearance as an assistant referee in the Premier League this season came in the aforementioned fixture at King Power Stadium in February.

Tuesday’s fourth official is David Webb. The Lancashire native joined the EFL list as an assistant in 2006 before graduating to being the main man two years later. He represented PGMOL at the Dallas Cup in 2009, spent time refereeing in Australia in 2018, and also refereed the League Two Play-Off final between Coventry City and Exeter City that same year.

Webb has never refereed a Premier League match, but has taken charge of over 600 matches in professional football. He is part of the Select Group Two list of officials, who predominantly take charge of Championship matches, and was the man in the middle of Middlesbrough’s 2-1 win over QPR in the second tier on 11 March.

Finally, Video Assistant Referee responsibilities will be overseen by Stuart Attwell, who has taken charge of 15 Premier League matches as the main official this season. He will be assisted by Richard West
