West Ham United v AFC Bournemouth
Premier League, London Stadium, Thursday 1 February 2024, 7.30pm GMT
Referee: Tim Robinson
Assistant Referees: Gary Beswick & Adam Nunn
Fourth Official: Darren England
VAR: Simon Hooper
Assistant VAR: Eddie Smart
Tim Robinson has been confirmed as the referee for Thursday’s Premier League match at home against AFC Bournemouth.
One of the Premier League’s newest regular officials, Robinson took charge of his first top-flight match in December 2019, a 1-0 win for Burnley over Newcastle United, and was promoted to Select Group 1 ahead of the 2023/24 season.
The official from West Sussex will referee a West Ham Premier League game for the first time on Thursday, having taken charge of the Hammers’ Carabao Cup quarter-final trip to Liverpool in December.
Robinson also took charge of the EFL League One Play-Off final last season, as Sheffield Wednesday beat Barnsley 1-0 after extra-time at Wembley Stadium.
Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn will serve as the assistant referees at London Stadium.
Beswick and Nunn regular partner up for Premier League outings, having both served as assistants in the Irons’ 3-1 win away at Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this campaign. The duo most recently worked together for Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Fulham in mid-January.
Both also regularly officiate in the UEFA Champions League and were also selected to assist at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Darren England will work as the fourth official on Thursday.
The 38-year-old refereed the Hammers' FA Cup third-round replay away at Bristol City two weeks ago, and last officiated the Irons in Premier League action back in December 2021 - a 4-1 win for David Moyes' side away at Watford.
The match against Bournemouth will be the first time this season that England has been a fourth official for a West Ham game. England has two showpiece finals under his belt, refereeing the 2016/17 EFL League Two Play-Off final between Blackpool and Exeter City, which Blackpool won 2-1, and the 2018/19 FA Youth Cup final, which Liverpool won by beating Manchester City on penalties.
Swindon-born Simon Hooper will take charge of Video Assistant Referee responsibilities. The 41-year-old has been part of the Select Group of Referees since 2018, and refereed the Irons’ 2-0 win over Manchester United in December and the 3-1 Carabao Cup fourth-round victory against Arsenal.
Manchester United v West Ham United
Premier League, Old Trafford, Sunday 4 February 2024, 2pm GMT
Referee: Andy Madley
Assistant Referees: Richard West & Nick Hopton
Fourth Official: Rob Jones
VAR: Chris Kavanagh
Assistant VAR: Stuart Burt
Andy Madley will be the referee for West Ham United's away match against Manchester United on Sunday.
Madley will take charge of the Hammers in the Premier League for the second time this season, having been the main official when Manchester United's neighbours, Manchester City, visited London Stadium in September.
A 40-year-old referee from Huddersfield, Madley has been on the Select Group 1 Referees list since 2019 and notably officiated the EFL League One Play-Off final between Preston North End and Swindon Town in 2015 as well as the 2019 League One Play-Off final between Charlton Athletic and Sunderland.
Having made his Premier League debut as a referee in the 2017/18 campaign, Madley has served mainly as a Premier League official since 2019/20.
Madley will be assisted by Richard West and Nick Hopton this weekend.
West has worked as an assistant referee in the Premier League since the 2008/09 season and has run the line at three West Ham league outings this season; the wins over Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur, and the draw away to Sheffield United. He has worked 16 league outings this campaign, and was also appointed to the 2017 EFL Cup final between Manchester United and Southampton.
Hopton, meanwhile, has run the line at 18 Premier League games so far this campaign, including two West Ham fixtures, having been a top-flight assistant referee since the 2017/18 season. He also worked the 2022 Community Shield between Liverpool and Manchester City.
Rob Jones will be the fourth official at Old Trafford. Jones also worked as the fourth official for the Hammers' 2-0 win at Arsenal at the end of December and has refereed 14 Premier League matches this campaign. He has also officiated in the UEFA Europa League and refereed the 2019/20 EFL League One Play-Off final between Wycombe Wanderers and Oxford United.
Chris Kavanagh will oversee Video Assistant Referee responsibilities. A Select Group official since 2017, Kavanagh has refereed 13 Premier League matches this season - including West Ham United's 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers - and led VAR at eleven top-flight fixtures.
