West Ham United can confirm that young defender Luizão has joined Polish top-flight side Pogoń Szczecin on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 22-year-old has featured regularly for the development side this season, making 25 appearances, and now heads to Poland to gain valuable first-team experience.
Pogoń Szczecin are currently on a six-game unbeaten run in the league and sit fourth, pushing for a strong finish and European qualification. They are also still in contention in the Polish Cup, where they host Piast Gliwice in the quarter-finals in what could be Luizão's debut on Wednesday.
