Loan Watch | Wins for Aguerd and Zouma, defeat for Ward-Prowse

Seven of West Ham United’s loanees were involved in a busy weekend of action at home and abroad.

James Ward-Prowse made his third start for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, playing 75 minutes in their narrow 1-0 defeat by Fulham at the City Ground. Despite their reverse, Forest sit tenth in the table with nine points from six games.

In La Liga, Nayef Aguerd played the full match for Real Sociedad in a commanding 3-0 victory over Valencia, continuing his impressive start to life in San Sebastián. Take Kubo swept Sociedad in front inside eight minutes before Valencia rallied but could not find the net.

Aguerd was denied a spectacular goal when his fierce long-range shot was parried by Giorgi Mamardashvili, before Iceland international Orri Óskarsson netted a late brace to confirm the home side's second La Liga victory in eight games played this season.

Kurt Zouma played all 90 minutes for Al Orobah as they secured a 1-0 win in the Saudi League, thanks to a first half stoppage time effort from FC Barcelona academy graduate Cristian Tello.

Freddie Potts made his second start for Portsmouth in the Championship, his first full 90 minutes of the campaign, helping them end a three-match losing streak with a 0-0 draw against Sheffield United. Newly-promoted Pompey remain without a win from seven matches and sit second-from-bottom in the Championship table.

George Earthy remains sidelined due to injury and was not involved in Bristol City’s 1-1 draw with Swansea City in the same division.

In League One, Callum Marshall made his fifth league start for Huddersfield Town, playing just over an hour in a 2-1 defeat by Reading, the Terriers' sixth loss in seven games in all competitions. Huddersfield now sit tenth in the table, with 12 points from eight matches.

Neither Gideon Kodua nor Michael Forbes featured in Wycombe Wanderers' 2-1 victory at Bristol Rovers, with the Chairboys securing the win through Josh Low's 96th-minute goal.

In League Two, Patrick Kelly was introduced for the final half-an-hour as Doncaster Rovers, reduced to nine men, suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Chesterfield, while Levi Laing was an unused substitute as Cheltenham Town fell 2-0 at home to Fleetwood.

Mason Terry was moments away from securing a clean sheet for Hornchurch in their FA Cup third qualifying round tie, but a late equaliser from Leiston forced a 1-1 draw, meaning a replay will be held at the home of the Urchins on Tuesday evening.

Fellow goalkeeper Krisztián Hegyi  was an unused substitute as Motherwell secured a 2-1 victory over St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership.

In France’s Ligue 2, Mohamadou Kanté was on the bench for Paris FC, who moved to the top of the table with a 2-1 victory at Red Star FC in a competitive derby.
