A trio of Academy of Football youngsters were involved across a busy weekend of football across the English Leagues and beyond.
Following his penalty shoot-out heroics in midweek, Krisztián Hegyi made his first EFL League One start for Stevenage in a 2-0 win over Shrewsbury Town on Saturday afternoon.
Steve Evans’ side was indebted to their stopper, who kept the game goalless by half-time with a superb save to deny Taylor Perry, whose strike was palmed away when it looked destined for the top corner.
After the break, Aaron Pressley saw his deflected shot put Boro ahead, before Jamie Reid tapped home Alex MacDonald’s header to secure the three points for Hegyi and company.
Stevenage’s second win of the season moves them to third in the League One table, as one of just four teams - alongside Cambridge United, Bolton Wanderers and Peterborough United - to have taken six points from their first two league matches.

Vejle’s Nathan Trott, meanwhile, tasted defeat in the Danish Superliga as FC Midtjylland edged a tight game 2-1 on Sunday.
Diving low to his left, Trott superbly saved a penalty inside ten minutes as he kept out Cho Gue-sung's strike from 12 yards.
However, after a goalless first half, Midtjylland’s Aral Simsir and Franculino struck in quick succession around the hour to put the visitors two ahead.
And despite Pablo Ortíz being sent off and a late goal for Vejle from German Onugkha, Trott's side were unable to find a way back into the game.
As a result, Vejle sit bottom of the Danish Superliga, with four defeats from their first four league games.
After beating MK Dons in the Carabao Cup first round in midweek, there would not be another victory for Freddie Potts, however, as EFL League One outfit Wycombe Wanderers fell to a 3-0 defeat by Lincoln City at LNER Stadium.
Starting his third straight fixture in all competitions in the heart of midfield, Potts saw Reeco Hackett put the hosts ahead in the second period.
Teddy Bishop struck to double the lead with an instinctive finish before Daniel Mandroiu netted Lincoln's third of the afternoon five minutes from time.
Wycombe sit in 23rd position in the League One table, with two defeats from their first two league games.
Kamarai Swyer, meanwhile, was an unused substitute for EFL League Two team Crawley Town, who drew 1-1 with Salford City.
Conor McAleny’s second-half strike ensured a share of the spoils after Luke Garbutt's own goal put Crawley ahead four minutes before the break.
The Reds have taken four points from their first two league games and sit sixth in the League Two table.
