Three of West Ham United's on-loan players were in action for their respective clubs at the weekend.
Flynn Downes started and played the full 90 minutes for Southampton in their 1-1 draw at Huddersfield Town in the EFL Championship.
The midfielder and his Saints teammates looked set to make it four wins in a row after Adam Armstrong put the visitors in front a minute into added-time at the end of the first half. However, Ben Johnson levelled for the Terriers three minutes from full-time to ensure a share of the spoils at John Smith’s Stadium.
Southampton are fourth in the table at 17 games, a point behind Leeds United and eight behind Ipswich Town in the second automatic promotion place.
Nathan Trott kept goal for Vejle BK in their 1-1 draw at bottom side Hvidovre on Friday evening.
The 24-year-old saw his team take the lead through German Onugkha’s goal inside ten minutes, and Vejle continued to create chances throughout. However, the home side levelled through Tobias Thomsen ten minutes before half-time and there was no further scoring, despite Hvidovre being reduced to ten men on 78 minutes when Marcus Lindberg was sent-off. Vejle sit eleventh in the 12-team Superliga standings, two points behind Randers, three behind OB and six ahead of Hvidovre.
Mason Terry also started in goal and produced an impressive performance for Concord Rangers as the Essex side drew 1-1 with Horsham in the Isthmian League Premier Division. Concord’s seventh point of the season means they remain bottom of the table, but the Canvey Island-based team are now within a point of second-from-bottom Haringey Borough.
Freddie Potts missed Wycombe Wanderers’ 2-1 home defeat by Reading in League One through injury, while Krisztián Hegyi was an unused substitute for Stevenage in their 3-0 victory at Fleetwood in the same division. The Hertfordshire side are fourth in the table, while Wycombe sit 13th.
Kamarai Swyer was also an unused substitute for Crawley Town, who won 2-1 at home against Harrogate Town to rise to eleventh in League Two, while Keenan Forson was unused for Dagenham & Redbridge’s 2-1 home defeat by Rochdale in the National League, and Archie Woods was likewise for Dartford in their 3-0 win over Torquay United in National League South.
