Our weekly look at how West Ham United’s loanees fared for their Clubs across Europe...

Flynn Downes started for Southampton as Russell Martin’s men moved three points closer to EFL Championship leaders Leicester City with a thumping 4-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

The Saints took advantage of the Foxes’ slip-up at Coventry City by sweeping the struggling Owls aside at St Mary’s.

Downes took up his regular role in the heart of the Southampton midfield, completing 92 per cent of his 72 passes, as the Saints extended their unbeaten run to 20 games in all competitions.

Ché Adams opened the scoring on 35 minutes, before second-half strikes from Adam Armstrong, Ryan Fraser and Sékou Mara completed victory.

Southampton stay third in the table, three points behind second-placed Ipswich Town and ten behind Leicester.

Freddie Potts in action for Wycombe Wanderers

In League One, Freddie Potts was a starter as Wycombe Wanderers registered a 1-1 draw at home to Lincoln City.

The Chairboys looked set for victory as Dale Taylor’s 29th-minute goal had them in front right until the sixth minute of second-half stoppage-time, when Ethan Erhahon stole a point for the Imps.

Gideon Kodua was an unused substitute, just a day after joining the Buckinghamshire side on loan, and Wycombe now sit 14th in the table, with 30 points from 26 games.

Kamarai Swyer was also an unused sub as Crawley Town suffered a 1-0 loss to Salford City in League Two.

He has since been recalled from his loan, having recorded three goal contributions in eleven matches while at the Reds. He could return for the Irons' U21s in Premier League 2 against West Bromwich Albion on Monday afternoon.

Heading to Europe, and Thilo Kehrer’s league debut for AS Monaco ended in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Reims.

Reims’ Teddy Teuma opened the scoring in the principality before the break, and although Wissam Ben Yedder levelled, goals from Reda Khadra and Azor Matusiwa secured victory for the visitors.

Monaco slip a place to fourth in the Ligue 1 table as a result, ten points adrift of leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

Academy goalkeeper Krisztián Hegyi could make his FC Den Bosch debut on Monday evening, as his new loan club head to Jong PSV for a 7pm GMT kick-off in the Dutch Eerste Divisie.

Meanwhile, Nathan Trott’s Vejle BK are preparing for their return from the winter break in Denmark, and they will play a friendly against second-tier Sønderjyske on Saturday.
