Kudus, Álvarez, Antonio, Mavropanos and Aguerd receive international call-ups

Mohammed Kudus, Edson Álvarez, Michail Antonio, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Nayef Aguerd have been called up by their respective countries for the final round of international fixtures of the 2023/24 campaign.

Kudus’ 15 goal contributions this season has seen our outstanding winner retain his place in the Black Stars' squad for their upcoming friendlies. They are set to face 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations finalists Nigeria on 22 March (1pm GMT) in Marrakech, Morocco, followed by a match against Uganda on 26 March (4pm GMT).

Elsewhere, Álvarez has been included in Mexico’s 23-man squad for the CONCACAF Nations League semi-final vs Panama on 22 March, as well as a final or third-place encounter on 25 March. Kick-off against Panama is set for 3.15am GMT.

Also heading to the United States is Antonio, who is part of Jamaica’s squad after an impressive return to form following a long-term injury. The Reggae Boyz will play the United States in the semi-final on Thursday 21 March (11pm GMT), hoping to pull off an upset and earn a meeting with Panama or Álvarez's Mexico in the final.

Nayef Aguerd playing for Morocco

All four of the Nations League finals matches will be hosted at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with the final being played on 25 March, kick-off at 1.15am GMT.

Aguerd will also be involved in international action, having been named in Morocco’s squad by manager Walid Regragui. The defender will contest in two friendlies against Angola and Mauritania in Agadir, Morocco on 22 and 26 March, with kick-off set for 10pm GMT and 5pm GMT respectively.

Finally, Mavropanos and Greece have their UEFA Euro 2024 play-off semi-final against Kazakhstan on Thursday 21 March, where Gus Poyet’s side will be looking to make it through to the final hurdle of the most prestigious international competitions. The winner will face either Georgia or Luxembourg on 26 March for a spot in Germany.
