Kristie Mewis arrives in east London with a plethora of experience at club and international level.
The 32-year-old has 53 appearances for the United States women’s national team and has played over 170 times in the National Women’s Soccer League [NWSL], and now brings that experience to the Barclays Women’s Super League and West Ham United.
A solid midfielder and a high-functioning cog in the USWNT machine, her career in college with the Boston College Eagles, before beginning her senior career with spells at Canberra United and Kansas City.
Loan spells in Japan and Germany were sandwiched between a two year period with Boston Breakers and Washington Spirit, before finishing up 2017 with Chicago Red Stars and Houston Dash.
Mewis then spent four seasons with Dash, helping them to 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup triumph. She would be traded to Gotham FC for the 2022 season and was part of the side that lifted the NWSL Championship.
On the international stage, after a five year absence from selection, Mewis returned in 2019 and has since gone on to help her country to success in the CONCACAF Women's Championship in 2022, as well as three consecutive SheBelieves Cup titles in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
