Kamarai Swyer joins Crawley Town on loan

West Ham United can confirm that winger Kamarai Swyer has joined EFL League Two side Crawley Town on a season-long loan.

Swyer’s move to Sussex completes a positive week for the 20-year-old, who signed a new two-year contract in east London on Wednesday.

At the Academy of Football since he was just eight years old, Swyer’s rise from the Chadwell Heath ranks saw him make a first-team debut in our 3-0 UEFA Europa Conference League win against FCSB in November 2022.

The 20-year-old recorded eight goal contributions at Premier League 2 last season, missing just two of the development squad's league fixtures in 2022/23, and was involved in a hatful of matchday squads with the first team.

Swyer could make his competitive debut for Crawley in their League Two opener at home to Bradford City on Saturday 5 August.

He joins goalkeeper Krisztián Hegyi, who has joined League One side Stevenage, stopper Nathan Trott, who is spending a second season with Danish club Vejle BK, and midfielder Freddie Potts, who has joined League One side Wycombe Wanderers in going out on loan to gain first-team playing experience.

Everyone at West Ham United wishes Kamarai every success in his loan spell in Sussex.
