West Ham United Academy defender Josh Briggs has been named in Northern Ireland's squad for the upcoming UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
The 18-year-old is part of manager Gareth McAuley's squad for the tournament, which will be held in their home country for the first time between 15-28 July.
Having captained Northern Ireland's U18s during the Tri-Nations Trophy earlier this summer, and then featured for the U19s in two friendlies with Slovakia, the centre-back is one of 20 players who will represent his nation's Under-19s at their first continental finals since 2005.
The hosts will kick off their Group A campaign against Ukraine in Larne at 7pm BST on Monday 15 July, before further clashes with Italy on Thursday 18 July at 7pm BST and Norway on Sunday 21 July at 7pm BST.
Briggs enjoyed a fine 2023/24 season in Claret and Blue, scoring twice in 23 appearances for the U18s, as well as playing three times for the U21s, and he signed his first professional contract in March this year.
With places at next year's FIFA Under-20 World Cup also up for grabs for the top five teams in the eight-nation tournament, there is plenty to play for as Briggs and his teammates get their campaign underway on Monday.
The tournament will be broadcast in the UK by BBC Sport, and across Europe by UEFA's rightsholders. To find out where to watch in your country, click HERE.
