Ben Johnson helped England book their place in the last eight of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship following a comfortable 2-0 win over Israel on Sunday evening.
The Hammers full-back started the fixture at Ramaz Shengelia Stadium in Georgia as England U21s made it two wins from their first two matches of the competition.
Operating at left-back, Johnson calmly found Morgan Gibbs-White, whose cross brought the opening goal when flicked home by Anthony Gordon on 16 minutes.
A dominant performance, one that saw Lee Carsley’s outfit boast 68 per cent possession, later brought a second goal.
Emile Smith-Rowe was the player on target and doubled his side’s lead 22 minutes from time – both of England’s first two shots on target turning to goals.
With the Czech Republic beating Germany 2-1 in the other Group C fixture played on Sunday, England have already confirmed top spot ahead of their final group game – against Germany on Wednesday 28 June.
