Mackenzie Arnold was announced as West Ham United women's team captain on Friday evening, and the goalkeeper became the latest guest to appear on the official West Ham United podcast, Iron Cast!
In a special episode, the Hammers No1 sat down with hosts Chris Scull and James Collins for a chat about captaincy, the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup and the Barclays Women's Super League.
Arnold firstly touched on her new role, and how she believes that it is the right time to take on the role having been at the Club since July 2020.
The 29-year-old is the longest serving player in the West Ham squad heading into the new season, and spoke her time playing under the Club's two previous captains, Gilly Flaherty and Dagný Brynjarsdóttir.
Arnold also spoke of pre-season, working under new manager Rehanne Skinner and previewing the opening fixture of the new season, when the Irons welcome Manchester City to Chigwell Construction Stadium on Sunday.
Tickets for the fixture are available to purchase from just £13 for Adults and £5 for Juniors. Click here to purchase yours and watch Arnold in action.
