Former striker Bobby Zamora is the latest guest to join the official West Ham United podcast, Iron Cast!
The attacker spent four years with the Hammers between 2004-08, scoring 40 goals in 152 appearances and helping the Irons return to the Premier League via the 2005 Championship Play-Off final.
The 42-year-old now sits down with Iron Cast co-hosts Chris Scull and James Collins to discuss his time in Claret and Blue, and his entire career through football in one of Iron Cast's funniest episodes yet.
Zamora's footballing journey actually began at the famous Academy of Football, and the striker recalls his time as an apprentice in east London, being released as a youngster and working his way back to the West Ham first team via Bristol Rovers, Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur.
The former No25's efforts in the 2004/05 Championship Play-Offs were crucial to West Ham's promotion, with Zamora scoring three goals across the two-legged semi-final against Ipswich Town and the only goal in the win over Preston North End in the final, to send the Hammers back to the Premier League. Zamora reflects on his memories of those magical outings.
Zamora also recalls reaching the 2006 FA Cup Final, playing against Liverpool in one of the most memorable finals ever.
A laugh-a-minute episode of Iron Cast also includes lifelong West Ham fan Zamora dicussing his favourite players, his confrontation with Sol Campbell at Highbury, his partnership with Carlos Tevez up front in the 2006/07 season, and clarifies previous comments about 'not liking football'.
