When & Where etc…
As in each of the previous two years, West Ham United will contest a pre-season double-header on Tuesday evening, with David Moyes splitting his squad in half.
One half will travel to National League side Boreham Wood and the other will head up the A12 to take on EFL League One club Ipswich Town. Kick-off in both matches will be at 7pm.
This will be the third time in the last five pre-seasons that West Ham have visited Portman Road, with the Irons scoring 2-1 and 4-1 victories over the Tractor Boys in 2018 and 2020 respectively.
The Hammers kicked-off their 2022/23 campaign with a 2-0 win at Swiss Super League side Servette on Friday evening, when Academy prospects Aji Alese and Divin Mubama were on the scoresheet.
This game will be the one of seven to be played in the build-up to the start of the new campaign, which begins with the visit of Premier League champions Manchester City to London Stadium on Sunday 7 August.

Travel…
Portman Road is a very easy ground to reach for West Ham United supporters travelling up from London and Essex.
By car, take the northbound A12. Once you reach the junction of the A12 and A14, just south of Ipswich, take the A1214 (London Road) for a couple of miles into town. As you approach the town centre, there is a Sainsbury’s supermarket on the left – at this point, go straight on past Sainsbury’s and then almost immediately right onto West End Road. Take the first left (after about half a mile) onto Sir Alf Ramsey Way and you have arrived.
There is a large NCP car park in Portman Road, right by the Away turnstiles, and other large car parks in West End Road and by Ipswich railway station.
Talking of railways, you can take the train to Tuesday's game. with direct Greater Anglia services leaving London Liverpool Street for Ipswich at 16.00, 16.02, 16.30, 17.00, 17.02 and 17.30 which should all get you to the game in time for kick-off. Direct services to London after the game depart Ipswich at 21.10, 21.44, 22.23 and 22.43.

West Ham United supporters will be situated in the Cobbold Stand.
Ambulant supporters will sit in the Cobbold Stand Lower tier. Wheelchair supporters will be situated in the West Stand.

Team News…
West Ham United have welcomed back their senior international players to pre-season training, but they will not be involved on Tuesday evening.
With those players involved being split for the double-header, the squad heading for Ipswich Town will include summer signing and former Tractor Boy Flynn Downes and fellow ex-Ipswich player Aaron Cresswell, as well as Łukasz Fabiański, Kurt Zouma, Pablo Fornals, Michail Antonio, Conor Coventry, Armstrong Okoflex and Harrison Ashby.

Ipswich Town will kick-off the 2022/23 season eager to build on a strong finish to the previous campaign and make a sustained bid for promotion from EFL League One.
The Tractor Boys dropped into the third tier in 2019 after 17 years in the second tier, but a run of just four defeats in their final 25 league matches following the appointment of manager Kieran McKenna in December has rekindled a feeling of real optimism at Portman Road.
The club had previously been taken over by US investment group Gamechanger 20 in April last year.
Historically, Ipswich Town was formed as long ago as 1878, but was not elected to the Football League until 1938.
The Suffolk club were crowned champions of England for the first and only time as a newly-promoted side in 1961/62 under the management of Alf Ramsey, who would lead England to FIFA World Cup glory four years later.
Another future England manager, Bobby Robson, then guided Ipswich through the second major period of success in their history, leading the club to a maiden FA Cup triumph in 1978, the UEFA Cup in 1981, and second-place in the old First Division in both 1980/81 and 1981/82.
Previous Meetings…
We've been regular visitors to Portman Road since scoring a 3-0 Second Division victory over Ipswich Town there in November 1954. That remains our joint-biggest win there, with John Lyall's side matching that result in the First Division in March 1984.
We scored a 4-1 pre-season win in Suffolk in August 2020. Prior to that, we also won 2-1 at Portman Road in 2018, when Manuel Pellegrini was in charge and Felipe Anderson and Marko Arnautović scored the goals. We also drew 0-0 at Portman Road in July 2014.
Our most-recent competitive visit was a forgettable one as Ipswich ran out 5-1 winners in the EFL Championship in January 2012.
We famously met Ipswich in the second-tier Play-Off semi-finals in both 2004 and 2005, winning through to the final on both occasions. Our overall competitive head-to-head record with Ipswich is played 68, won 27, drawn 20 and lost 21.
