Three of West Ham United women’s team’s group of internationals have been in action for their respective national teams.
Li Mengwen was on target for China in a 5-0 victory over Uzbekistan at the Yongchuan International Tournament in Chongqing on Saturday.
The full-back scored her second senior international goal with a long-range shot as China made a winning start to the four-team competition, which also features Thailand and Zambia.
The hosts and defending champions, China will host the winner of the other semi-final at the Yongchuan Sports Center on Wednesday 8 April.
Camila Sáez and Chile suffered a 1-0 friendly defeat by Haiti at the Estadio Bicentenario Municipal de La Florida in Santiago.
Sáez’s slip on 16 minutes led to Haiti winning the ball and being awarded a penalty when goalkeeper Ryann Torrero fouled midfielder Melchie Dumornay, who then stepped up to score from the spot.
Despite Haiti being reduced to ten players when defender Kethna Louis was sent-off for two bookable offences four minutes before half-time, Chile were unable to score an equaliser.
The two countries will meet again on Tuesday 8 April.
Shelina Zadorsky was introduced as a half-time substitute for Canada in the Reds’ 3-0 friendly victory over Argentina at BC Place in Vancouver.
The experienced Hammers defender replaced goalscorer Jade Rose with Canada leading 2-0 at the interval. Rose opened the scoring on 24 minutes before striker Nichelle Price doubled the advantage on 39.
With Zadorsky on the pitch for 108th cap, Canada continued to dominate and scored a third goal with three minutes of normal time remaining when substitute midfielder Julia Grosso found the net.
Canada and Argentina will complete their double-header at Starlight Stadium in Langford, British Columbia, on Tuesday 8 April.
