Tomáš Souček scored the winner as Czech Republic beat Faroe Islands 1-0 in a UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier at Doosan Aréna in Plzeň on Sunday.
His tenth goal for his country came from the penalty spot, as Souček converted from 12 yards after Odmar Faerö was penalised for handball.
Making his 64th senior international appearance, Souček helped his side hold onto an important victory and bounce back from a 3-0 defeat to Albania last time out.
Czech Republic sit second in Group E, with three wins from their first six matches of this qualifying campaign.
Meanwhile, Hammers Edson Álvarez and Mohammed Kudus went head-to-head as Mexico and Ghana met in an international friendly on Saturday night in the USA.
Mexico took the bragging rights by a 2-0 scoreline following second-half goals from Hirving Lozano and Uriel Antuna.
Kudus featured for the full 90 minutes, while Álvarez played for 73, before he was replaced by Luis Romo.
Both sides are next in action in international friendlies on Tuesday evening. Mexico play Germany, while Ghana face the USA.
Finally, Michail Antonio featured for Jamaica in a 3-2 win over Haiti in the CONCACAF Nations League.
Former Everton and Leicester City winger Demarai Gray and Aston Villa’s Leon Bailey were on the scoresheet for Jamaica, who edged the five-goal thriller.
Antonio featured for 88 minutes, as Jamaica moved top of Group B with three wins and a draw from their first four games.
