The Academy striker - currently on loan with Huddersfield Town - won his seventh senior Northern Ireland cap in the match played in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary, as the point kept them a point behind the group leaders.
Marshall played 67 minutes before being replaced by Dion Charles, and Northern Ireland might feel unfortunate not to leave with all three points, having registered seven shots on target to Belarus' two, but have another chance to move into Group C3's top two when they host Bulgaria on Tuesday.

At age group level, it was a successful night for Lewis Orford and Fin Herrick as England U19s thrashed Netherlands U19s 4-1 in a friendly encounter in Marbella, Spain.
Orford wore the captain's armband for the Young Lions and scored his team's third goal on 73 minutes, following earlier strikes by Aston Villa's Kadan Young and Shumaira Mheuka of Chelsea.
Tottenham Hotspur's Mikey Moore completed the scoring in the final minute, while Herrick enjoyed a strong 90 minutes in goal, helping repel a confident Dutch start as England laid the foundations for victory.
