Mohammed Kudus

You are the king of the take-ons, with more successful dribbles than any player in the Premier League this season! What is the secret to dribbling successfully?

"I work on my lower body a lot as well. You have to feel very loose but also very strong and that helps me push players away which allows me to use my skills and qualities."

What would your advice be to young players who want to become wingers?

"I think as a winger you need to have speed and be accurate with your take-ons, crossing and finishing. You have to have the confidence within yourself to take people on and beat the and I think that is one of the most important priorities if you want to be a top winger.

"It is important for the young players to take it one day at a time. It is a long road, so it’s important to take it day-by-day and work as hard and improve yourself every day."

Do you research your opposite number ahead of each game to identify their strengths and weaknesses?

"Yes, I always research my opponent and it is always important to do so. There are so many different types of defenders within football that you play, so you have to be prepared and ready to adapt every game differently.

"There are certain defenders who are stronger or faster than others, while some of slower covering the outside, so having as much information as possible helps so you can try get away from them."

Do you enjoy the responsibility of taking players on and scoring and creating goals?

"Yes, definitely, as it is one of biggest assets of my game [being able to take players on and scoring and creating goals]. I just want to keep on improving and keep doing as much as I can to help the team.

"It has always been my style from the start of my career. I look at the goal against SC Freiburg in the [UEFA] Europa League and that is the type of goal I like to associate myself."

What has been your favourite goal that you have assisted in your career?

"It has to be the goal against Freiburg – I have never done something like that before.

It summarises the type of player I am and how I play."

What has been your favourite goal that you have assisted in your career?

"I’ll go for the assist I provided for Jarrod [Bowen] against Brentford when he scored his hat-trick.

"It was a nice chip into the box and he was able to head it home. That was an important win for the team as well."
