West Ham United women's team finished the Women's League Cup group stages with a 100 per cent record after beating Southampton 3-0 at Chigwell Construction Stadium on Wednesday evening.

After a close-fought first half, Shelina Zadorsky fired in her first goal in West Ham colours before Paige Peake inadvertently turned the ball into her own net after Riko Ueki had tried to head home.

Just before time was called on the game, Dagný Brynjarsdóttir atoned for her earlier penalty miss by scoring her first goal since returning to action after the birth of her second child.

The victory means that the Irons advance into the quarter-finals of the competition, where they will be drawn against one of Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Brighton & Hove Albion, Tottenham Hotspur or Durham.
