Goalkeeper Finlay Herrick has been named in England’s squad for the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup in Indonesia.
The talented shot-stopper will be part of Ryan Garry’s team, who hope to follow in the footsteps of England’s U17 World Cup winners from 2017.
Herrick and company will start against New Caledonia on Saturday 11 November (9am GMT) before facing Iran on Tuesday 14 November (12pm GMT).
The Young Lions will then conclude Group C against Brazil on Friday 17 November (12pm GMT), with the top two from each group and four best third-placed teams progressing to the round of 16.
The final will be held at the Manahan Stadium in Surakarta on Sunday 2 December.
Herrick, who was part of the U18 squad to lift the FA Youth Cup last season, has made eight appearances for Kevin Keen’s side this season.
The 17-year-old was named on the bench as the U21s beat Newport County 1-0 to reach the EFL Trophy knockout for the first time since 2020/21 last Tuesday.
