A group of West Ham United supporters enjoyed Saturday’s Premier League win at Arsenal in the snowy surroundings of Canyons Village in the Park City Mountains of the American State of Utah.
The fans were invited to the watch party by lifelong Hammer Roland Weedon, who is CEO of the Club’s Official US Residential Mortgage Lender Essex Mortgage.
Born and raised in east London, Weedon relocated to Park City, where he runs his successful business and founded the Park City Hammers supporters’ group in 2024.
To celebrate, he invited fans from all over the United States to visit the popular winter sports resort, where they enjoyed skiing on a dedicated and appropriately named ‘Claret and Blue run’ with mascot Hammerhead and ambassador Marlon Harewood,
The atmosphere built on Saturday morning ahead of the kick-off at 8am Mountain Standard Time, and supporters kicked and headed every ball with Graham Potter’s side, despite being 4,800 miles from Emirates Stadium.
Jarrod Bowen’s winning goal made it a day to remember and capped off a scintillating West Ham-filled weekender for those who headed to Park City.
The event raised funds for West Ham United Foundation, the Club’s official charity, with this latest in-market activation highlighting Essex Mortgage’s commitment to creating a home from home for West Ham fans based on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.
Essex Mortgage CEO and lifelong West Ham United fan Roland Weedon said: “The West Ham Winter Weekender has truly ignited the passion, enthusiasm and energy felt for the Club all over the world. It’s been great to bring so many fans together to share our love for West Ham United, most importantly we’ve been able to raise a great amount of money for the West Ham United Foundation to support their outstanding work back in east London.”
Club ambassador and former striker Marlon Harewood added: “It’s been fantastic to be involved in this event, in such a beautiful setting and surrounded by so many passionate Hammers fans. The Club is supported in all four corners of the globe and it was a privilege to find out more about the unique and personal stories of how our supporters stateside found their love for West Ham United.”
