West Ham United have been drawn away at Liverpool in the Carabao Cup third round.
Following Wednesday night's 1-0 win over AFC Bournemouth in round two - earned by Jarrod Bowen's late goal - the third round draw pits Julen Lopetegui's men against the Reds at Anfield.
It marks the second successive year that we have been drawn against Liverpool in this competition, following our quarter-final exit on Merseyside in December 2023.
Liverpool enter the Carabao Cup at this stage due to their involvement in the UEFA Champions League and are defending champions, having defeated Chelsea at Wembley in March's final.
That marked Jürgen Klopp's final trophy as Reds boss, prior to Arne Slot's appointment as manager this summer.
The Irons have faced the Reds on six previous occasions in the League Cup, winning fourth round ties 2-1 in 1971/72 and 4-1 in 1988/89. The two clubs also contested the 1981 final, which Liverpool won following a replay.
The tie will be played in the week commencing 23 September 2024 and full fixture and ticketing information will be published in due course on whufc.com
