Hammers discover UEFA Women's Euro 2025 opponents

The four West Ham United women’s team players that qualified for UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 next summer have found out their group-stage opponents.

The draw was made on Monday evening at the Swiss Tech Convention Centre in Lausanne, live on BBC Two. 

Apart from hosting nation Switzerland, the countries were divided into four seeded pots based on rankings, and were allocated a group and then a position in that group - from one to four.

Attacker Seraina Piubel and Switzerland had their place guaranteed and were allocated the first spot in Group A. They will face midfielder Oona Siren’s Finland, Norway and Iceland as they battle for a spot in the quarter-finals.

Allocated a spot in Pot Three, Hammers defender Amber Tysiak and Belgium were drawn into Group B where they will take on World Cup winners Spain, Portugal and Italy.

Meanwhile, also in Pot Four alongside Siren and Finland were goalkeeper Kinga Szemik’s Poland, who were drawn into Group C that also contains Germany, Denmark and Sweden.

Elsewhere, Group D comprises France, England, Wales and the Netherlands.

The competition will commence on Wednesday 2 July 2025 with Switzerland taking on Norway, and will run until Sunday 27 July 2025, with a full list of key dates shown below.
