West Ham United suffered a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa in their 2024/25 Premier League season opener on Saturday evening.
Lucas Paquetá scored from the spot after 37 minutes to cancel out Amadou Onana's early opener, but the Hammers were unable to go on and find the crucial second goal.
Instead, it was Aston Villa who struck decisively when, with eleven minutes left to play, Morgan Rogers crossed low from the left and Jhon Durán swept powerfully home.
