Two goals in the closing minutes gave Brighton & Hove Albion a 3-2 victory over West Ham United at American Express Stadium on Saturday.

Brighton led 1-0 at the break thanks to Yasin Ayari's stunning strike, but were pegged back just three minutes after the restart through Mohammed Kudus, before Tomáš Souček crashed a header home seven minutes from time, only for Kaoru Mitoma to head a goal of his own and then Carlos Baleba to fire home a third from long range.

Only 13 minutes were on the clock when Ayari sized up his options from range and bent a wonderful shot beyond Alphonse Areola's dive and into the top right-hand corner to give the home side the lead.

The Hammers enjoyed more possession in the first half and went close to levelling before the break when Souček's looping header was touched onto the crossbar by home goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.

They didn't have to wait long after the break to find the equaliser though as Jarrod Bowen burst into space down the right and cut back for Kudus to squeeze the ball home.

West Ham continued to search for a second and were rewarded on 83 minutes when Bowen swung over another cross from that right-hand flank and Souček was there at the back post to nod home.

Six minutes later, though, the game was all square once again as Mitoma was in the right place at the right time to nod past Areola.

There was still time for one final twist as, two minutes past the 90, Baleba was given too much time to pick his spot with the decisive strike from outside the box.
