West Ham United can confirm that George Earthy has joined EFL Championship side Bristol City on a season-long loan.
Impressing in every age group since joining West Ham at Under-6 level, Havering-born Earthy will get his first full season of senior football at Ashton Gate. The 19-year-old midfielder will play under Liam Manning, who has plenty of experience mentoring young Hammers having served as West Ham United U23s head coach from 2015 to 2019, nurturing talents such as Declan Rice and Ben Johnson.
One of the U21s’ stand-out performers last season, Earthy will be looking to build on a successful 2023/24 campaign which saw him register 19 goal contributions in 21 Premier League 2 appearances. His impressive progress earned him eleven call-ups to the first team matchday squad and he made four senior appearances, including an unforgettable final home game of the season against Luton Town in May, when he scored his first goal for the Hammers in a 3-1 victory.
Bristol City’s promotion ambitions offer an excellent development opportunity for Earthy as he aims to make his mark in the Championship. Manning’s side kicked off their campaign last weekend with a 1-1 draw away to Hull City. In their next league game, where Earthy will be eager to make his debut, the Robins will host Millwall.
Everyone at West Ham United wishes George all the best in his loan spell, and we look forward to seeing his continued development with Bristol City.
