West Ham United midfielder Freddie Potts has joined EFL League One club Wycombe Wanderers on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old, who was part of the Hammers squad which won the UEFA Europa Conference League in June, will spend the 2023/24 campaign with Matt Bloomfield’s Chairboys.
Barking-born Potts joined the Club at the age of six, graduated from the Academy of Football and signed his first professional contract in June 2021. He made his first-team debut in the UEFA Europa League against Dinamo Zagreb in December of the same year and signed a new, three-year contract with the Club earlier this month.
Last season, he was in Moyes’ matchday squad on eight occasions in the Conference League, including the final against ACF Fiorentina, and made substitute appearances in the group-stage victory at FCSB and round of 16 second-leg win over AEK Larnaca at London Stadium.
Wycombe will be looking to improve on their ninth-place finish last term, when the Buckinghamshire club finished just eight points outside the League One Play-Offs.
Potts could make his competitive debut for Wanderers in their League One season-opener at home to Exeter City on Saturday 5 August.
He joins goalkeepers Krisztián Hegyi, who has joined League One side Stevenage and Nathan Trott, who is spending a second season with Danish club Vejle BK in going out on loan to gain first-team playing experience.
