Four things we loved about West Ham United's Premier League win over Watford

1. West Ham United for Isla Caton

London Stadium stood united for Isla Caton as both sets of players and supporters paid their heartfelt tributes to the brave young Hammer.

West Ham United fan Isla passed away on 25 January at the age of seven, five years after being diagnosed with the rare child cancer neuroblastoma.

Isla's fight caught the imagination of the football world and the West Ham family came together for the first time in-person on Tuesday evening to pay their respects.

A video message from Isla's mother Nicola was met warmly, while both West Ham and Watford players and followers took part in a pre-match minute's applause.

And the whole ground rose to its feet again on seven minutes, when Isla's photograph was displayed again on the London Stadium screens.

2. Jarrod's just outstanding!

Jarrod Bowen

Jarrod Bowen continued his outstanding run of form with another vital goal for West Ham United.

The No20 made it six goals in his last six appearances in all competitions with the winner in Tuesday's 1-0 Premier League win over Watford.

The 25-year-old struck the only goal of the game midway through the second half, collecting a through ball from influential substitute Manuel Lanzini and seeing his 25-yard strike deflect off Samir and past the unfortunate Ben Foster in the Hornets' goal.

And only a wonderful late save from Foster denied Bowen a second of the night late on as the former England stopper tipped his rasping low left-foot strike onto the post.

With eleven goals and ten assists, Bowen has already registered seven more direct goal involvements than he did in the whole of last season, and you suspect there are plenty more to come!

3. Super Tomáš Souček

Tomáš Souček

Tomáš Souček may not have got his name on the scoresheet, or chalked up an assist, but his influence on West Ham United's win was still huge.

The towering Czech Republic national-team captain covered every blade of grass at London Stadium, helping his team edge a hard-fought game and collect three more important Premier League points.

Using his height and strength, Souček won nine aerial challenges - three more than teammates Michail Antonio, Craig Dawson and Kurt Zouma - as well as a joint-team high three tackles.

The No28 also made two clearances and two interceptions and made two key passes to set up opportunities for his colleagues.

As usual, the 26-year-old also carried a goal threat, heading one Jarrod Bowen corner narrowly over the crossbar and unleashing two other attempts.

4. Dominant Daws

Craig Dawson

Craig Dawson's record against Watford since swapping the Hornets for West Ham United reads: Played Two, Won Two.

The centre-back was at his no-nonsense best against his former club on Tuesday evening, helping the Hammers to make it five Premier League wins in a row over the Hertfordshire club.

Dawson was dominant, winning six aerial challenges and making one successful tackle, interception and clearance each as the Irons kept their first clean sheet in three top-flight matches.

The 31-year-old put his body on the line too, receiving a painful kick in the head by Joshua King as he sought to preserve West Ham's narrow lead in the closing stages of the match.
