Jarrod Bowen and Kudus

Five Hammers among 2024 London Football Awards nominees

West Ham United’s David Moyes, Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus and goalkeepers Alphonse Areola and Mackenzie Arnold have been nominated for the 2024 London Football Awards.

The London Football Awards annually celebrates the very best of the capital's football, with four Hammers stars and the men's first-team manager shortlisted for the 2024 accolades.

Moyes is nominated for the Manager of the Year once again, having claimed the honour in both 2021 and 2022.

He will compete with Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Ange Postecoglou of Tottenham Hotspur, Leyton Orient’s Richie Wellens and Chelsea Women’s manager Emma Hayes for the award.

Bowen, meanwhile, has been shortlisted for the Premier League Player of the Year. The 27-year-old has been in scintillating form throughout the 2023/24 campaign, scoring eleven goals and providing two assists in 20 Premier League outings so far.

The forward is competing with Arsenal's Declan Rice and William Saliba and Tottenham Hotspur pair Pedro Porro and Guglielmo Vicario for this year’s honour.

Mohammed Kudus versus Brentford

Summer signing Kudus is nominated for the LFA Goal of the Season, with his sensational finish away to Brentford shortlisted.

The Ghanian levelled the match at the Gtech Community Stadium in early November with a scissor-kick from Michail Antonio’s left-wing cross. He now has six Premier League goals in Claret and Blue.

West Ham's No14 faces competition from Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, Spurs defender Porro, Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo and Wesley Hoedt of Watford for the award.

Finally, Areola and Arnold are both shortlisted for the Goalkeeper of the Year.

Areola has made 18 Premier League appearances so far this campaign, keeping four clean-sheets. He has also made 72 saves in the competition this season – the fifth-most of any goalkeeper.

Mackenzie Arnold

Women’s captain Arnold, meanwhile, has made eleven appearances for West Ham in all competitions in 2023/24. Her nomination follows her name being on the list for FIFA's Best Goalkeeper Award for her performances in East London and for Australia.

Areola and Arnold will compete for this year’s award with Fulham’s Bernd Leno, Tottenham’s Vicario and Crystal Palace’s Sam Johnstone.

The 2024 London Football Awards will be held on Thursday 29 February in Camden, with the winners determined by leaders from football administration and the media.
