Forward Evan Ferguson has been named in the Republic of Ireland’s 23-man squad for their two upcoming international clashes later this month.
Heimir Hallgrímsson’s side are set to take on Bulgaria over two legs in the UEFA Nations League B/C play-offs, with the first game set to take place in Plovdiv at 7.45pm GMT on Thursday 20 March, before the return clash at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin at 7.45pm GMT on Sunday 23 March.
After finishing third in Group B2 during the regular running of the Nations League between September and November 2024 - behind England and Greece, and ahead of Finland - the Republic of Ireland are hoping to avoid relegation to League C, where Bulgaria earned a second-place finish in Group C3.
Ferguson - who is on loan at the Hammers from Brighton & Hove Albion - will be looking to add to his record of four goals in 18 appearances for his country during the break from domestic action.
The 20-year-old has so far featured on four occasions for West Ham since his arrival in east London in early February.
