Fantasy Premier League - Gameweek Six hints and tips

West Ham United continue their early-season tour of London when they face Brentford on Saturday.

Julen Lopetegui’s side will make the short trip to the Gtech Community Stadium, looking for a strong response from last weekend’s home disappointment against Chelsea and a midweek defeat at Liverpool in the Carabao Cup third round.

The Hammers have gone three games without a win in the Premier League and will be looking to register their second victory of the campaign at Gtech Community Stadium, following the 2-0 success at Crystal Palace in August.

Both sides have plenty of players able to provide the touch of magic required to make the difference on the day, meaning there are a number of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) decisions to be made in the lead up to kick-off.

The Gameweek Six transfer deadline is set for 11am on Saturday 28 September ahead of a mouth-watering feast of weekend action.

While we will be giving you FPL tips and tricks throughout the remainder of the 2024/25 season on whufc.com, see below for some of our picks for the upcoming round.

For this fixture, all eyes are on Mohammed Kudus…

Mohammed Kudus

Kudus' eye-catching Brentford record

Mohammed Kudus’ (£6.3m) record against Brentford in his debut campaign for the Hammers offers strong encouragement that the winger could get back to his best form this weekend. He delivered impressive returns in both of the sides meetings last season, claiming eleven points across the two fixtures thanks to a goal and an assist.

Despite failing to score so far this season, Kudus has been one of the Hammers’ main goal threats, with his 12 shots and nine shots in the box both placing second among his West Ham team-mates.

With Edson Álvarez suspended for Saturday’s clash after his sending-off at Liverpool in the EFL Cup, it is likely that Tomáš Souček (£5.0m) will return to the midfield. He enjoyed one of his best seasons in Claret and Blue last term, scoring ten goals in all competitions, and will be looking to add to his goal in the aforementioned win at Crystal Palace against the Bees on Saturday.

Opposition Watch: Brentford

Bryan Mbeumo (£7.2m) has earned an outstanding 34 points in Fantasy Premier League so far this season after scoring his fourth goal of the season against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, making it no surprise that the Cameroonian is one of the most sought-after players ahead of this weekend's London derby, with 602,121 FPL managers putting their trust in the forward.

Bryan Mbeumo

Mbeumo had eight shots inside the box and four big chances, which are unsurprisingly team-leading totals and show his clear potential for goals. The 25-year-old has registered ten key passes and also created four big chances. These statistics both also rank top for Brentford and suggest that he will also be able to deliver some assists while being among the goals.

Elsewhere, Nathan Collins (£4.5m) has been a trustworthy source in defence for the Bees. Despite not keeping a clean sheet so far this season, the 23-year-old has registered 13 points and notched two assists during the opening five Premier League games.
