Jarrod Bowen

Fantasy Premier League | Gameweek 32 hints and tips

A trip to Liverpool is hardly the time to start filling your Fantasy Premier League (FPL) team with West Ham United players, but the Reds did concede three goals last weekend at Fulham, so picking Hammers forwards may not be as foolish as it initially seems.

Arne Slot’s title favourites have not been watertight at Anfield in recent months, conceding to Southampton, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Ipswich Town on home turf since the start of the year.

West Ham’s own away form has been up and down, but Graham Potter’s side have scored on the road at Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton since the start of February.

So, while it would be something of a leap of faith to pick multiple Hammers this weekend, there are potential FPL points up for grabs for managers who make the correct line-up choices.

The Gameweek 32 transfer deadline is set for 11am on Saturday 12 April, with Liverpool hosting West Ham at Anfield at 2pm on Sunday 13 April in a game you can watch live on TV across the world.

While we will be giving you FPL tips and tricks throughout the remainder of the 2024/25 season on whufc.com, see below for some of our picks for the upcoming round.

Stick to Bowen?

Selecting any West Ham United player for an away Premier League fixture at Liverpool is something of a gamble, considering the Hammers’ record at Anfield so, if you are going to pick one, why not stick with Jarrod Bowen (MID, £7.6m)?

The captain has scored 134 FPL points in 2024/25, including seven in last weekend’s 2-2 draw with AFC Bournemouth, when he scored the Irons’ second goal.

With just 7.9% of FPL managers owning Bowen, you could score a differential if the England international can score at Anfield for the third time in his West Ham career, having netted there in both the Premier League and EFL Cup last season.

Liverpool have scored 32 goals in their 15 home Premier League matches played so far, so picking West Ham defenders might have to wait until next weekend’s home game with relegated Southampton.

Other than Bowen, therefore, Czech Tomáš Souček (MID, £4.9m) might be your second best option. The 30-year-old has two ten-point hauls in his last five Premier League appearances, against Leicester City and Everton, and recently passed 100 FPL points for the fifth consecutive season. He is reliable and, with his ability to score goals against any opponent, could pleasantly surprise FPL managers on Sunday.

Mohamed Salah

Opposition Watch: Liverpool

Where else can you start, in real-life football or Fantasy Premier League, than with Mohamed Salah (FWD, £13.8m)? Liverpool’s Egyptian forward has amassed an incredible 311 FPL points so far in 2024/25 – 121 more than Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford, who sits in second place.

Salah has scored 27 goals, registered 17 assists – both Premier League-leading hauls – and added 51 bonus points – 14 more than Nottingham Forest’s Chris Wood.

In the reverse fixture at London Stadium, which Liverpool won 5-0 in late December, Salah tallied 16 points courtesy of a goal, two assists, a clean sheet and two bonus points. Amazingly, he has beaten that total on three occasions, with a season-high single-game total of 21 in the 6-3 win at Tottenham Hotspur earlier in December.

If you don’t have the budget for Salah, winger Luis Díaz (MID, £7.5m) is Liverpool’s second-highest FPL points scorer so far with 153. The Colombian has scored FPL points in all but one of Liverpool’s 31 Premier League matches, and he didn’t play in it!
