Fantasy Premier League | Gameweek 25 hints and tips

West Ham United continue their 2024/25 Premier League campaign when they host Brentford this Saturday – and Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers will be casting an eye over Hammers ahead of our latest London derby.

The Hammers put in a spirited display against Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea last time out, but fell just short at Stamford Bridge. Jarrod Bowen marked his return to action with a neatly dispatched goal, while Andy Irving impressed on his full debut in midfield, and there were other noteable performances in Claret and Blue.

Next up for West Ham is the visit of the Bees, which has a Fixture Difficulty Rating (FDR) of two out of five, suggesting this game represents a strong opportunity to collect points by picking Hammers in your FPL team.

There are still hundreds of FPL points up for grabs for managers who make the correct line-up decisions between now and the final Gameweek 38 deadline on Saturday 24 May.

The Gameweek 25 transfer deadline is set for 6.30pm on Friday 14 February ahead of a mouth-watering feast of weekend action that begins at the American Express Stadium on Friday.

While we will be giving you FPL tips and tricks throughout the remainder of the 2024/25 season on whufc.com, see below for some of our picks for the upcoming round.

James Ward-Prowse in training

New and returning Irons to make their mark?

Evan Ferguson (£5.5m) completed a deadline-day loan move from Brighton & Hove Albion to London Stadium, and the Republic of Ireland international centre-forward could prove a shrewd capture for FPL managers.

The 20-year-old, who has proven himself to be a major source of value in Fantasy, is fit and ready to contribute in Claret and Blue and could therefore prove to be a difference-maker against the west Londoners.

Ferguson scored 69 FPL points last season, 2023/24, and 65 FPL points in his first campaign as a regular member of Brighton’s first-team squad.

He has scored 19 points so far this term with a single match high of seven points scored against Wolverhampton Wanderers in October.

Meanwhile, James Ward-Prowse (£6.1m) has returned from a loan spell at Nottingham Forest and could be a bargain signing for FPL managers.

Last season, our No8 hit 146 FPL points courtesy of scoring seven goals and registering seven assists and five clean sheets, while adding 19 bonus points.

Ward-Prowse’s limited opportunities at Forest saw him only amass 15 points in the opening half of the season, but his quality from set pieces and open play are not in doubt, so expect the 30-year-old to add to that tally significantly in the closing 14 match weeks.

Jarrod Bowen (£7.3m) put in a captain’s performance on his return to the starting XI at Chelsea, recording his 12th attacking return in just 20 starts by delivering the opening goal in the Hammers’ 2-1 defeat against Chelsea.

That was his 49th Premier League strike, and his next goal will see him become just the second Hammer reach a half-century of goals in the competition, folllowing Michail Antonio.

The England international's points-per-match average of 5.0 ranks him an impressive joint-seventh among FPL midfielders this season.

Bryan Mbeumo

Opposition Watch: Brentford

Cameroon international Bryan Mbeumo (£7.9m) has scored 14 Premier League this season and could be set to be a popular pick ahead of Saturday’s clash against the Hammers, with over 35% of managers invested in the Cameroonian midfielder so far ahead of Gameweek 25.

Mbeumo scored inside a minute against the Irons in the reverse fixture earlier this campaign, and he has four goals and an assist in six meetings with West Ham in total, none of which have ended in defeat for the Bees.

Elsewhere, Mikkel Damsgaard (£5.0m) is a focal point of Thomas Frank’s team, reflected by his inclusion in 17 of the last 18 starting line-ups.

The Dane, who is Brentford’s regular set-piece taker, has returned two goals and eight assists so far this campaign. Only Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa (£6.3m) have more attacking returns for the Bees this season.

In addition to his attacking returns and set-piece threat, no team-mate has created more big chances (ten) than Damsgaard for Brentford.

Wissa has grabbed 103 points so far in FPL 2024/25 and is owned by eleven per cent of the managers. The DR Congo international forward has netted eleven goals and regiestered two assists so far this term.
