Opposition
Everton will be hoping to build on their 0-0 draw with Arsenal when West Ham head to the North West on Sunday afternoon.
The Toffees picked up their first point of the season by holding the Gunners at Emirates Stadium, and manager Brian Sørensen will be hoping for more points after a tough start to the campaign that has seen them yet to find the back of the net in league action.
Sørensen has been at the helm of Everton since April 2022, and has provided stability since then. In his first season in charge, Everton finished sixth, winning matches against teams in and around them consistently to reach 30 points and register nine wins across the campaign.
Last season, the team finished in eighth place, largely thanks to a strong end to the campaign that saw them pick up eight points from their final four matches.
This summer, Everton made eight new signings during the transfer window, adding a mix of WSL experience and talent from abroad. Former Hammer Honoka Hayashi joined Melissa Lawley, Veatriki Sarri as the three players with previous league experience. Meanwhile, Nigerian international Toni Payne also signed on the dotted line, adding a wealth of experience to the team.
On the list of outgoings were Hanna Bennison, Katrine Veje and Martina Piemonte, who all departed for pastures new, while forward Toni Duggan announced her retirement from football.
This season, the Blues have already suffered two big injuries, with Aurora Galli and Inma Gabarro both ruled out for the foreseeable future after suffering anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries.
Previous Meetings...
Everton and West Ham United have faced off against one another on ten occasions in the Barclays Women's Super League, with the first meeting taking place in October 2018.
Of those ten meetings, West Ham have won three, Everton have won five, and there have been two draws.
The Hammers' most recent victory came on the opening day of the 2022/23 campaign when Lisa Evans bagged the only goal of the contest as Paul Konchesky made a winning start to life as a manager.
The last time that West Ham picked up points at Walton Hall Park came in December 2021, with Zaneta Wyne finding the net in a 1-1 draw.
