Eight West Ham United Academy players have been called up to represent England during the September international break.
West Ham U21s captain Kaelan Casey will be travelling with the Elite League Squad (formerly known as U20s). It will be the 19-year-old’s second call-up to the Elite League Squad, having represented the young Lions in June earlier this year, starting in their 2-1 win over Sweden and appearing as a second-half substitute in their 2-2 draw against the Republic of Ireland. Teammate George Earthy – currently on loan at Bristol City – also featured in the June internationals but will miss the young Lions' upcoming fixtures due to an ankle problem.
For the U19s squad, Lewis Orford, Josh Ajala and Finlay Herrick have been chosen to represent the Three Lions. Both Orford and Herrick have a history of representing England at various youth levels, starting from their debuts at U16s. In his last international appearance, Orford had the honour of captaining England U18s to a 2-1 victory over Morocco at St George’s Park in May. Herrick’s most recent outing for England was also a memorable one, keeping a clean sheet in a goalless draw against Germany.

Airidas Golambeckis, who has had a great start domestically with West Ham’s U18s, scoring two goals in his last two appearances, has been called up to England’s U18s squad. The 16-year-old centre-back, who represented Lithuania at U16s, will link up with England teammates for the first time as they travel to Limoges in France for the Lafarge Foot Avenir Tournament.
First-year scholars Andre Dike, Chinaza Nwosu and Lanre Awesu will be heading to Germany for England U17s’ international camp, where they will go up against Mexico, Israel and Germany.
