Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, presented by Heineken...

A first home win of the 2002/03 season finally arrived on this day in 2003 after a late goal from Jermain Defoe saw an end to a 14-game winless run in the Premier League.

The striker jumped off the bench to net an 89th-minute winner as the Hammers recovered from a goal down to banish thoughts of a 6-0 FA Cup defeat to Manchester United in their last outing and beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1.

Dwight Yorke had put Rovers ahead after 38 minutes, but mercurial Italian Paolo Di Canio led a second-half revival, which included the equaliser with just under an hour played, to see the home side to victory.
