West Ham United ended a five-game losing run as they gained a much-needed Premier League win over struggling Swansea City at London Stadium on this day in 2017.

The Hammers took a deserved lead just before half-time when Cheikhou Kouyaté collected a Robert Snodgrass pass and scored with a stunning low 25-yard strike that flew past future Irons goalkeeper Łukasz Fabiański.

The victory took Slaven Bilić's West Ham, for whom captain Mark Noble was making his 400th appearance, eight points clear of the relegation zone, and left the Swans in the bottom three.

West Ham went on to finish 13th, while Swansea ended the season 18th and were relegated to the Championship.
