West Ham United ran in six goals in a pre-season goal-fest on this day in 2021, defeating Scottish Premiership giants Celtic 6-2 at Parkhead.

The visitors scored three in each half, coming back from 1-0 down to lead 3-1 at the break thanks to Michail Antonio’s double and a Mark Noble penalty.

Saïd Benrahma, Jarrod Bowen and Armstrong Oko-Flex got in on the act after the restart to round off a highly entertaining 90 minutes in Glasgow.

After a lively start, Celtic took an early lead, as Callum McGregor pinched possession off Manuel Lanzini and shaped his shot around Craig Dawson’s attempted block to leave Łukasz Fabiański helpless.

But the Hammers built momentum and turned the game on its head thanks to Antonio's quick-fire brace and Noble's well-taken spot-kick.

The entertainment didn’t let up in the second half, with Celtic striking first to briefly give themselves hope through Ryan Christie’s close-range header, only for the Hammers to restore their two-goal lead minutes later courtesy of Benrahma.

There was still time for the visitors to add a fifth and sixth, as Bowen’s exquisite flick took the ball inside the left-hand post, before Oko-Flex - who was a summer arrival at the Academy from Celtic - found the bottom right corner with a shot across goalkeeper Scott Bain.
