Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with Heineken...

A Bryan Robson hat-trick fired Ron Greenwood's West Ham United into the last four of the League Cup, as they eased past Sheffield United with a 5-0 win on this day in 1971.

Robson's haul, in addition to a Clyde Best double, proved plenty to book a semi-final tie against Stoke City.

Following a 2-1 win in the Potteries, the Hammers lost 1-0 at home, sending the two-legged tie to a replay.

After a goalless draw in a first replay at Hillsborough, Stoke prevailed 3-2 in the fourth meeting, this time at Old Trafford, to see Greenwood's men out of the competition.
