Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, presented by Heineken...
A Julian Dicks piledriver saw off Aston Villa in a Boleyn Ground League Cup tie on this day in 1989.
The Irons had already seen off the Villans' rivals Birmingham City to set up this third round match-up, and although Lou Macari's side were a division below their top-flight opponents, they managed to pull off a cup upset.
Having drawn 0-0 in the first tie at Villa Park, Dicks' powerful finish from a free-kick taken short was enough to settle the reply in east London.
West Ham would go on to defeat Wimbledon and Derby County to reach the semi-finals, where their cup run was ended by fellow Second Division side Oldham Athletic.
