On This Day | Derby delight for Hammers

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, presented by Heineken...

A London derby victory over Tottenham Hotspur on this day in 1991 provided a high point in an otherwise disappointing season for the Hammers.

Former Spurs man Mitchell Thomas came back to haunt his former club, notching the Hammers' winner, who also found the net through Mike Small - cancelling out an early Gary Lineker opener.

The majority of the 23,990 inside the Boleyn Ground were able to cheer a 2-1 victory which lifted West Ham to 17th in the table.

They also managed to beat Arsenal in their next game, but drifted back down again and ended the campaign with relegation in 22nd spot.

Enjoy the goals from that win over Tottenham again in the video player above.
