Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with Heineken...

West Ham bounced back from a 4-0 drubbing away to Newcastle seven days earlier as they overcame Southampton at the Boleyn Ground on this day in 1986.

Tony Cottee scored from the spot with Paul Ince and Alan Devonshire getting in on the act as the Hammers made their way up to fifth in the table.

By the end of the season the home side were not flying quite so high as they recorded a 15th place finish in Division One.

Enjoy the goals from that December day again in the video player above.
