On This Day: Collins and Diamé strike late to beat Norwich

West Ham United moved up to tenth in the Premier League with a dramatic 2-0 victory over Norwich City under the lights at Boleyn Ground on this day in 2014.

Sam Allardyce's Hammers rode their luck at times, with goalkeeper Adrián producing fine saves to deny Norwich forwards Gary Hooper and Robert Snodgrass in particular, but proved the more clinical team on the night as James Collins and Mohamed Diamé struck late on.

Collins' opener arrived in the 84th minute as he powered Diamé's in-swinging cross past John Ruddy, before the Senegalese midfielder's forward burst, deep into injury time, saw his finish deflect past Ruddy and secure the win.

The result marked the Hammers' 13th top-flight clean sheet of the season and their third consecutive 2-0 win, following similar successes against Swansea and Aston Villa.

We went on to finish the 2013/14 season in the relative safety of 13th place.
