Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, presented by Heineken...

Valon Behrami's goal ended a seven-game winless run as West Ham United scored a valuable 1-0 Premier League victory at Sunderland on this day in 2008.

The Switzerland midfielder struck the only goal of the game to secure all three points for Gianfranco Zola's side at the Stadium of Light, when his 20th-minute shot took a deflection off Kenwyne Jones and beat goalkeeper Marton Fulop.

Behrami later hit the crossbar, while the Black Cats missed a succession of chances to level as West Ham held on to win and rise to 13th in the table.

Zola's Irons went on to enjoy a decent 2008/09 campaign, finishing ninth in the standings with 51 points, while Sunderland narrowly avoided relegation.
